Uttar Pradesh Expands Stamp Duty Concession for Women Buyers

Uttar Pradesh extended women’s 1% stamp duty concession to properties worth up to ₹1 crore, covering registrations in Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar.

Key facts

A July 22 state cabinet decision extended the 1% stamp duty concession for women buyers from properties worth up to ₹10 lakh to those worth up to ₹1 crore. The stamps and registration department notified the change on July 29, 2025.

Women buyers will pay stamp duty of 6% in Ghaziabad, down from 7%, and 4% in Gautam Budh Nagar, down from 5%. A woman buying a ₹1 crore property can save ₹1 lakh; a ₹50 lakh purchase saves ₹50,000.

Ghaziabad records 600–650 property transactions daily and Gautam Budh Nagar, which includes Noida and Greater Noida, about 700. Women currently account for 30–35% of Ghaziabad registrations. Officials expect the concession to increase registrations in women’s names.
