Greater Noida authority CEO Ravi Kumar NG directed intensified action against encroachments in notified areas earmarked for planned development. Anti-encroachment drive at Bisrakh village freed nearly 25,000 square metres of floodplain land on 21 August. Demolition at Khasra numbers 112 and 113 in Bisrakh lasted two hours using three JCB machines and two dumpers to raze unauthorised constructions where colonisers attempted illegal plotting. Authority general manager AK Singh stated strict action will be taken against construction in notified areas without prior approval or sanctioned layout plans. Officials urged prospective buyers to verify all land-related details with the authority before purchase, warning unverified transactions could cause financial loss. Separately, Urban Services Department in coordination with local police removed around 25 unauthorised carts, stalls, shanties and temporary shops along main road of Tughlakpur village. Authority said illegal roadside setups block traffic flow and create safety hazards. Authority committed to sustained crackdown on encroachments on public land and roadsides.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) cleared approximately 50,000 square meters of encroached land in Bisrakh's submerged zone on Saturday. Illegal settlers had been attempting to develop plots in the notified area, which included land acquired and occupied by the authority.

The operation lasted three hours and was carried out under supervision of senior GNIDA officials with security personnel, using three JCB machines and two dump-trucks. The enforcement team demolished illegal constructions.

The encroached land was located in Bisrakh village's submerged zone under plot numbers 322, 323, 324, 325, 331, 332, and 333. Unauthorised plotting in this area violates authority regulations.

GM AK Singh stated that such activities will not be tolerated. GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar said strict directives have been issued to curb encroachments in notified and submerged zones, and urged people to consult the authority before purchasing land to ensure its legality.

Residents and commuters in Sector 1, Greater Noida West, are calling for urgent repairs to deep potholes on the road to Bisrakh village, citing safety risks for students and office-goers.

Residents of Sector 1 in Greater Noida West have sought urgent repairs to the main road leading to Bisrakh village, which has deep craters and potholes. Hundreds use it daily, including office-goers and schoolchildren from nearby housing societies. Ace Divino residents, whose society is opposite the road, said the numerous deep potholes make riding and walking dangerous. Rain floods the road, making potholes difficult for motorists to see. Residents of Flora Heritage and Bisrakh village also use the road daily.

Hundreds of Kisan Sabha and Kisan Ekta Sangh members protested outside Noida Power Company Limited’s (NPCL) Tugalpur office on February 4 over an alleged January incident involving Santaraj’s family in Khedi Bhanauta. NPCL said the dispute stemmed from illegal power use and resistance to meter installation.

A 21-member farmers’ delegation met officials, who said an inquiry was underway and action would be taken by February 12 if anyone was found guilty. Farmers sought continuation of fixed electricity connections, resolution of billing disputes and withdrawal of alleged electricity-theft cases. Talks are scheduled for February 13; leaders Rupesh Verma, Soran Pradhan and Veer Singh Nagar warned of larger or indefinite protests.

NPCL said it serves around 175,000 consumers, including 700 unmetered households, and is targeting 100% metering by March 31, 2025, under Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission directives. Anti-theft drives are underway in Aimnabad, Bhanauta, Bisrakh and Ghodi Bachheda.
