The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) began construction on the Lajpat Nagar–Saket G Block corridor, part of Phase IV’s Golden Line (Line-11). A groundbreaking and first test pile were held near Pushpa Bhawan in Saket. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is the executing agency. The corridor is the first stretch beyond Phase IV’s priority corridors to enter physical construction.

The fully elevated route will have eight stations: Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, GK-1, Chirag Delhi, Pushpa Bhawan, Saket District Centre, Pushp Vihar and Saket G Block. It will serve residential and commercial hubs including Greater Kailash-1, Saket and Pushp Vihar. Interchanges with the Violet and Pink Lines will be available at Lajpat Nagar and with the Magenta Line at Chirag Delhi, making Lajpat Nagar a triple-interchange station.

Trains are expected to carry around 900 passengers per trip, with up to 300 per coach. Projected ridership is over 1.2 lakh passengers daily by 2041.

DMRC said the corridor will improve access to residential hubs, institutions, schools and government offices in south Delhi. Initial earthwork is under way near Pushpa Bhawan; traffic permissions and diversions are not currently required. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is executing the package. The corridor was approved by the Union Cabinet in March 2024 as part of Metro Phase 4.
