A 20-foot-wide sinkhole appeared on Vikas Nagar Main Road in front of Punjab National Bank on Monday morning after the road caved in. Road repairs had been ongoing for months. The Municipal Commissioner and officials inspected the site. Police closed the road with barricades. No injuries reported. This is not the first collapse in the area; road cave-ins in Lucknow have increased from 1-2 cases annually five years ago to 5-6 cases per year currently. A similar incident occurred on December 5 near the IT intersection in Lucknow.
