Indore Collector Shivam Verma declared 29 locations across the district silence zones to maintain a peaceful, orderly environment. The list includes:

• Hospitals: MY Hospital; District Hospital on Dhar Road; Bombay Hospital and Bhandari Hospital in Vijay Nagar; Convenient Hospital (CHL) in MIG; Aurobindo Hospital on Sanwer Road; Mental Hospital in Banganga; Choithram Hospital; Gokuldas Hospital; Chacha Nehru Hospital; Dental Hospital; Unique Super Speciality Hospital opposite Dussehra Maidan; BCM Kokilaben Hospital in Nipania; ESIC Hospital in Nandanagar; MTH Hospital near Kothari Market; Apollo Rajshree Hospital in Vijay Nagar; Vishesh Jupiter Hospital in Teen Imli; Super Speciality Hospital in Dhakkanwala Kuan; and Medicare Hospital and Bhagwati Nursing Home near Tilak Nagar.
• Educational institutions, including Jijamata Girls College in Moti Tabela.

The 29 locations also include schools and key stretches.

The Malviya Nagar–Gandhi Nagar corridor began operations on September 6 and carried more than 60,000 passengers in its first 24 days, generating over ₹26 lakh in revenue. Employees are using it to travel to Vijay Nagar, Super Corridor, Gandhi Nagar and the airport area, citing more predictable journey times and lower costs than road travel.

The fare from Malviya Nagar to Gandhi Nagar is ₹65, compared with an estimated ₹150 for a Rapido bike ride, ₹250 for an auto and nearly ₹310 for a cab. The Metro Rail Corporation said passenger numbers towards Gandhi Nagar are rising and operating hours were revised in response to demand and feedback. First trains from both terminals depart at 7:30 am; the last service runs at 8:15 pm. The corridor has 16 stations, including Meghdoot Square, Bapat Square, Heera Nagar and ISBT. Some commuters have sought further fare cuts.

• The six-lane flyover from Vijay Nagar towards Satya Sai Square is disrupting traffic along the corridor with barricades, water-filled potholes, roadside parking, dust and noise. Blocked footpaths force pedestrians closer to traffic; two-wheeler riders face added risks from concealed potholes and sudden lane changes.
• Evening congestion worsens when vehicles park along the route. A bank security guard said traffic piles up on Tuesdays as devotees visit Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir. Shopkeepers reported that parking problems and blocked shop entrances affect customer movement and business.
• Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) said work started late and was delayed by the busy road, affecting piling and other work. Thirty per cent remains; completion is targeted for December 2026. The scheduled completion was March 2026. The project aims to ease congestion at Satya Sai Square and improve traffic flow.

Rain after a downpour flooded the road outside Block 81 in Vijay Nagar Ward 33. Blocked drains, which are not cleaned regularly, were cited as the main cause. Residents protested.

Passenger services from Gandhi Nagar to Malviya Nagar Square will begin on September 6, 2026, extending Indore Metro’s operational network from about 6 km, currently ending at Super Corridor-3, to approximately 17 km and 16 stations. The service will run from 9 am to 7 pm, with trains every 15 minutes and more than 80 daily trips.

The extension will be inaugurated on September 5 at 4 pm at Brilliant Convention Centre in Vijay Nagar by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal.

The Automatic Fare Collection system will support tickets through the MPMRCL app, UPI, QR codes, e-wallets and other digital payment options. Passenger offers include a 5% return-ticket discount, 10% off group tickets, and an 8%-15% bonus on eligible app e-wallet recharges; recharges of ₹1,500-₹2,000 receive a maximum 15% bonus.
