Nearly 4,000 residents of The Hemisphere in Greater Noida's Sector 27 lost power for 24 hours due to a high-voltage cable fault, with no water or working lifts.
Key facts
The Hemisphere society in Greater Noida's Sector 27 experienced a 24-hour power cut from Tuesday 2pm until Wednesday around 2pm after a high-voltage internal cable fault. The diesel generator backup operated until 4am Wednesday; residents then struggled without water supply and non-functional lifts. Residents on upper floors had difficulty accessing groceries and supplies. The outage affected the commercial complex; traders reported losses including spoiled perishable food. A retail food store owner reported ₹1 lakh in losses from spoiled dairy products and other items. The society is a 102-acre residential township opposite Sector Delta 1 Metro station, comprising 12 towers of 14 floors each with 1,000 residential units including ultra-luxury villas, apartments and studios.
