The north–south line will run from Todi Mod on Sikar Road to Prahladpura, serving Vidhyadhar Nagar, Chandpole, SMS Hospital, Tonk Road, the Airport and Sitapura. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Rajasthan on July 4, 2026.

The Jaipur Development Authority handed over 27 hectares near Bambala Pulia to Jaipur Metro on May 11, clearing a dispute dating to 2011. The Rajasthan High Court ruled in the project’s favour on April 30; a process to pay landowners ₹126 crore in compensation has begun, and fencing is under way. A depot costing about ₹300 crore is planned for the site, with completion targeted in three years.
The ₹13,500-crore project has Asian Development Bank approval for a ₹6,565-crore loan. Following Union Cabinet approval, bids for civil packages have begun. Seagull India Limited received a ₹918-crore contract for a 10.8-km elevated corridor with 10 stations, connecting Prahladpura, Sitapura and Haldighati Gate. A spur will link the corridor to the Bambala depot. The company targets completion in 34 months; the route will also serve Sanganer and Sitapura.
