Noida redevelops Sector 90 depot for June 15 bus launch

Noida Authority is upgrading the Sector 90 depot for a June 15 city bus launch with 100 electric buses, a charging station and new support facilities.

  • Noida Authority has started redeveloping the Sector 90 depot before the June 15 launch of the city bus service.
  • Work includes clearing old NMRC buses, cleaning the grounds, pruning trees and repainting buildings.
  • Two cranes were used to remove buses left at the depot since the NMRC feeder service ended.
  • NMRC earlier operated 50 routes; the service was suspended during the Covid lockdown in March 2020 and formally terminated in December 2020.
  • 100 new electric buses are expected on June 6, with trials from June 10.
  • Part of the depot has been reserved for a charging station for the electric fleet.
  • Two buildings will be used as an administrative block and a rest house for drivers and helpers.
  • A defunct IGL fuel station inside the depot will be dismantled.
  • Noida additional CEO Satish Pal inspected the depot and asked departments to finish the work before services begin, which will coincide with commercial flight operations at Noida International Airport.
  • Noida has floated a tender worth Rs 8.26 crore for civil, architectural and site development work to turn the depot into a modern transit hub.

  • Sumbul Siddiqui said she booked a 600 sqft commercial unit on 27 December 2013 for nearly ₹60 lakh and paid 50%.
  • She said buyers later learned the unit could not be sold to non-captive users, so they would not get the tripartite lease deed registered in their favour.
  • Anita Yadav, Neelam Singh, Ruchi Yadav, Nirmal Yadav and Deepika Yadav said they booked two 850 sqft units each for ₹2 crore in the Sector 90 project.
  • Buyers said many units are still undelivered and assured returns remain unpaid.
  • Neelam Singh alleged fake layouts were shown: the buyers were told the two commercial floors were lower ground floor and upper ground floor, while layouts submitted to Noida Authority were for ground floor and first floor.
