Haryana industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh inaugurated a newly constructed 24-metre sector road connecting Sector 49 with Golf Course Extension Road at Godrej Aristocrat. Constructed by Godrej Properties, the road benefits nearly 30,000 residents and schoolchildren. Singh stated the Haryana government will soon formulate a policy on 24-metre roads in urban areas to improve connectivity and resolve related issues. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held several meetings on the 24-metre roads policy. During the event, Singh held a public grievance hearing at Uniworld Garden-2 in Sector 47, addressing residents' concerns on environmental protection, single-use plastic avoidance, and tree planting. Singh noted Badshahpur assembly constituency is one of the largest in the state, spread across two municipal corporation jurisdictions with rapid development. Development works are planned considering future requirements, with existing issues being addressed in a time-bound manner and deficiencies rectified.

Over 600 families in blocks A, B, and C of Uppal Southend, Sector 49, Gurgaon experienced a severe water crisis lasting three days caused by a pipeline issue.

Subhash Chowk at the entry point of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway faces persistent congestion from nearly 20,000 daily vehicles. NHAI and GMDA plan infrastructure changes: widening service road along carriageway from two to three lanes, increasing distance between entry and exit points, adding footpaths and improved drainage to prevent waterlogging. Currently narrow service lanes cause traffic halts due to illegal parking and abrupt turns. Commuters report 15-20 minutes to cross the stretch onto Sohna Road. Peak congestion occurs 8:30-11:30am and 5:30-8:30pm. Vehicles spend additional 20-35 minutes on stretch, wasting thousands of litres of fuel daily and increasing pollution. Primary jam cause is vehicles getting entangled immediately after underpass. NHAI's project officer Yogesh Tilak stated distance between entry and exit points will be increased and service road widened. NHAI will launch detailed technical survey in coming days.

Vatika City residents in Sector 49, Gurgaon, inaugurated an in-situ composting plant on Earth Day, 22 April 2026. The event featured an environmental talk by Vineet Vohra, founder of Give Me Trees Trust, and the opening of a two-day “Aravali Bachao” exhibition.

Amitabh Singh, vice president of the Vatika City Apartment Owners Association, said composting at housing societies and other large waste generators can recycle waste and ease ecological pressure. He cited Gurgaon’s low groundwater levels, limited forest cover and poor air quality, and stressed public participation and behaviour change.

Community measures include reducing power consumption, rainwater harvesting, using green fertilizers and consuming materials consciously. Treated STP water is reused for horticulture and cleaning. Recycling systems cover organic waste through composting, as well as plastics, paper, cardboard, tins and bottles.
