Sector 40 Residents Seek Urgent Repairs to Damaged Gurgaon Roads

Gurgaon Sector 40 residents are urging the municipal corporation to repair damaged internal roads, including a one-kilometre route linking the market to Sector 45.

Internal roads in Gurgaon’s Sector 40 are difficult for motorists and pedestrians to use, with potholes, uneven surfaces and loose gravel. The 18-metre-wide main road, about 1km long, connects the sector’s main market to the Sector 45 junction; adjoining internal lanes are also damaged.

Residents said the roads were built around eight years ago and have steadily deteriorated. Uneven patch repairs have failed to make them safe. Despite written complaints and several phone calls to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), residents report receiving acknowledgements but no substantial response. Sector 40 RWA president Abhimanyu Yadav said the absence of stormwater drains is weakening the road surface and shortening its life.

Reconstructed nearly two years ago, the road is a key route into Greenwood City and is used by people travelling towards the ISKCON temple. An alternative route adds around 2 km to journeys.
