A 936-metre, four-lane flyover at Satadhar Junction has opened, easing congestion and improving connectivity across western Ahmedabad.
Key facts
Ahmedabad’s four-lane Satadhar Junction flyover was inaugurated on March 29 by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Located in Ghatlodia, it is 936 metres long and 16.60 metres wide, and cost an estimated ₹90 crore. It connects a busy route between Naranpura and Science City, reducing travel time and fuel consumption and improving traffic flow. The junction sees an estimated 1.5 lakh vehicles daily. Traffic has also improved in nearby Ghatlodia, Sola, Thaltej and Chandkheda. The project was proposed by the Chief Minister, funded under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana (SJMMSVY) and built by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

Ahmedabad’s Sattadhar, Makarba and Hebatpur flyover and railway overbridge projects are nearing completion and expected to open by mid-2026.
Key facts
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said work is nearing completion on the Sattadhar flyover in Ghatlodiya, the Makarba railway overbridge and the Hebatpur railway overbridge. They are expected to ease congestion for more than 4.5 lakh commuters combined and open by mid-2026.
The four-lane Makarba overbridge, connecting Torrent Power Makarba to Corporate Road over railway crossing No. 24, is 93% complete. The ₹80.63 crore project was delayed by a design change required because of an underground water line. It is expected to be completed by March 2026 and benefit 1.5 lakh commuters. AMC standing committee chairman Devang Dani reported the progress at Thursday’s meeting.
