Rajouri garden a very good locality to live in it was a small and clean colony in past as mostly all houses were only ground floors and fresh air and no pollution but as growing populations every one has build multistory which created congested colony it and parking problem these days otherwise very good shopping place and a posh colony s sharma

Rajouri Garden Area is a well known area.
It is having connectivity to almost every where North , South , East & West Delhi , connected by Bus as well as by Metro .
Most of the leading Malls , Cinema Halls all eating Outlets like Mc Donald , Bikanerwala, Haldiram , Subway Domino Pizza , all major Fine Dine Restaurants are nearby in a range of 2-3 km.
Both the commercial as well as Residential Properties are there

Tagore Garden’s Post-Partition Housing Faces Loss Through Renovation

Tagore Garden’s 1960s refugee housing records Delhi’s post-Partition resettlement, but modern façade renovations are erasing evidence of its original architecture.

Key facts

Tagore Garden was built to house Punjabi refugees after 1947. The 1951 Census recorded displaced persons at close to 28% of Delhi’s population, with west Delhi receiving the largest share of rehousing. The colony was named after Rabindranath Tagore, despite no obvious connection to Punjab.

Its 1960s homes featured flat roofs, plain balconies, standard-pattern jaalis and straight staircases, reflecting limited budgets. From the 1970s, residents added unsanctioned rooms, extended balconies and façade tiles. By the 1980s, west Delhi’s resettlement colonies were used as recognisable Hindi-film backdrops.

The Tagore Garden metro station opened on the Blue Line in December 2005, at the meeting point of the colony and Tatarpur village. Today, ceramic cladding and aluminium frames are replacing older façades, erasing physical evidence of the original housing and its later changes. Tagore Garden and nearby Rajouri Garden were part of west Delhi’s post-Partition rehousing.
