Running between ESI-Basaidarapur Metro station and the Najafgarh drain, it allows commuters to bypass three traffic signals. Atishi said it would save 40,800 commuter-hours daily and 1.1 million litres of petrol and diesel annually, with pollution reductions equivalent to planting 65,000 trees. She said it was the 39th flyover inaugurated since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power 10 years ago.

The flyover is part of an elevated corridor between Punjabi Bagh and Raja Garden, benefiting commuters travelling to or from Punjabi Bagh, Basai Darapur, Paschim Vihar, Raja Garden and Moti Bagh. The corridor’s first section, the Moti Nagar flyover, was inaugurated by former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 13, 2024. A subway is also being built near Punjabi Bagh; the project is estimated to cost ₹352.32 crore.

The Club Road flyover was ready in August 2024 but awaited forest department permission to cut or transplant a median tree, which remains barricaded. The project still needs permission to fell 33 trees, including that tree. Utility-shifting delays—including high-tension cables and a water pipeline—caused it to miss December 2023 and February 2024 deadlines.
