West Bengal’s Cabinet approved transferring 200 acres to the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) for the Tajpur–Dankuni–Raghunathpur industrial corridor and granted industry status to the state’s logistics sector, citing investment and employment potential. It approved 15 new posts in the New Town–Kolkata Development Authority and amendments to Agriculture department inspector recruitment rules.
Other approved land measures include correcting records for 3.8 acres in Nonadanga, South 24-Parganas; renewing the 30-year lease of 3.16 acres in Barakhola for Dr. Devi Shetty’s hospital; transferring 193.29 acres in Hirapur, West Burdwan, to WBIDC as freehold for industrial use; and settling a long-standing land dispute in Baruipur Township out of court.
The Cabinet also cleared freehold allotment of 36 MIG flats and 18 garage/parking spaces in Kolkata’s Chetla Ashray housing project, and approved the West Bengal Influencer Engagement Policy.
