Rapidly developing Singanallur in Coimbatore has attracted IT workers and industries but lacks infrastructure: pending flyover, incomplete drainage, water supply gaps, and garbage management issues.
Key facts
Singanallur Assembly constituency covers a rapidly developing urban spread in Coimbatore city with small industries, residential colonies, educational institutions, and major public infrastructure including Coimbatore International Airport and Singanallur bus stand.
Electorate includes aspiring IT sector youth, construction workers, and MSME industry owners, largely mid-income families.
Recent infrastructure: Trichy Road flyover inaugurated 2022; Avinashi Road flyover 2025. Long-pending Singanallur flyover remains non-starter; Coimbatore International Airport expansion has not taken off.
