The Delhi High Court issued notice to the Government of NCT of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Nizamuddin West Association on a petition alleging the Association encroached on a public park, converted it into a party lawn and commercially rented it for weddings, parties and other functions.

Justice Mini Pushkarna directed respondents to file replies within four weeks, followed by rejoinders, if any. Petitioner Shiraz Parveen, 85, a permanent Nizamuddin West resident, says late-night events, loud music, firecrackers, illegal parking, waste dumping and unauthorised construction have caused health problems and nuisance. Her ailments include high blood pressure, renal impairment, hyperthyroidism and cardiac problems.

The petition cites DDA layout plans designating the disputed site as a public park, while another pocket is designated for a community hall. It alleges the green area was concretised and its commercial use violates planning, municipal and environmental rules. Parveen seeks an end to the alleged use and restoration of the park under Articles 226 and 21, after earlier complaints brought no meaningful action.
