A significant redevelopment project is underway in Chembur, Mumbai, crafted by GA Builders, a member of the RNA Corp Group, which aims to provide new homes for over 1950 families, according to a recent media statement. The existing Subhash Nagar Colony, established by MHADA, is roughly 55 years old, consisting of 57 buildings that accommodate 36 tenants each. Upon completion of this extensive housing initiative, families will be relocated to new flats that span 320 square feet, with an additional 65 square feet dedicated to a flowerbed, niche, or dry area, all supplemented by essential amenities.
Having secured all necessary approvals for redevelopment and organized transit arrangements for the tenants, GA Builders is poised to leave its imprint on the Mumbai real estate landscape.
Mr. Manoj John, a spokesperson for RNA Corp, shared, "Thus far, we have constructed 744 flats across five buildings, and we are preparing to erect eight additional buildings to accommodate 546 families who are eager for redevelopment." He further mentioned that over 1300 families out of 1950 have consented to the transformation of Subhash Nagar into a mini-township.
Regarding the project's extensive scope, Mr. John emphasized the necessity for a comprehensive infrastructure enhancement, which will incorporate the establishment of drainage and sewerage systems, underground water lines, recreational areas, internal roadways, and playgrounds. To guarantee a consistent water supply, both underground and overhead water tanks will be installed alongside provisions for piped gas connections.
Beyond these features, RNA Corp offers a remarkable “Zero Maintenance Cost” structure for the society, achieved by allocating fixed corpus funds to each member. The monthly interest accruing from these deposits will cover maintenance and other society-related expenses, the statement noted. Furthermore, RNA Corp will assist tenants during the transit phase by covering brokerage fees for rental accommodations, as well as rentals and relocation charges.
