Singapore’s largest private property developer, the $4 billion Far East Organization, is eager to establish a presence in India. The prominent Singapore conglomerate is currently in discussions with potential Indian partners to facilitate its entry into the burgeoning real estate market, focusing particularly on major metropolitan areas such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. Mr. Chia Boon Kuah, the executive director, mentioned, “We are talking to partners who will complement our property development expertise. Big realty players who know the four markets don’t need a partner, but regional ones who have the land and are in the business may find partnering with us beneficial.” However, it should be noted that these discussions are still at a preliminary stage; Mr. Kuah refrained from disclosing the names of any realtors that are currently in negotiation with them. The Singapore firm is well-regarded for its development of luxurious residential and commercial properties, including the renowned Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. Additionally, they are actively constructing Orchard Central as part of a $1.6 billion revamp of Orchard Road, the bustling shopping district in the city-state. Mr. Kuah elaborated, “We are very interested in coming to India. Ideally, we would look at the hospitality segment and high-end service apartments. We would like to develop four-star and five-star hotels in India and operate them.
