Kalas is an area near Vishrantwadi, located on Alandi road. I stayed here for about 2 years for a sole purpose that the area provides good connectivity to Pune airport / Viman Nagar & Pune station. but beware, lot of landlords are filling their pockets by renting half decent apartments in Kalas. Do not hurry when you are about to rent an apartment in this area. Try to visit the place at least twice - once in a daytime & once during night time before your finalize, so that you will understand a great deal about the locality. Please ask promptly where do they dump their garbage. In many areas in Kalas, residents simply throw garbage in their backyard which may happen to be your parking space. Water is definitely one of the pros. The biggest disadvantage is noise - most of the population is local illiterate population and there will be overnight DJ parties because of some politician's birthday, there will be over night bhajans in sravan month or almost every week for some or the other reason. Defense aircraft make very harsh noise during day as well as during nights.
