The Supreme Court of India dismissed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by Sharanam Association of Allottees seeking additional floor area ratio (FAR) for the Great Value Ekanam project.

Residents of Great Value Sharanam society in Sector 107, Noida are preparing for a protest movement. At a meeting on Sunday, AOA president Abhishek Mittal announced an indefinite hunger strike starting September 19. Mittal stated that residents have filed long-standing complaints about construction defects, civic amenities and other issues but effective action has not been taken. He said the hunger strike will be conducted in rotation with multiple residents participating, not just himself.

A dispute at Great Value Sharanam in Sector 107, Noida has escalated with Sector 39 police registering a case against five apartment owners' association (AOA) office-bearers: president Abhishek Mittal, vice-president Anoop Pokhriyal, treasurer Puneet Kapoor, secretary Vishwaroop Malik and member Varun Kumar.

Great Value Projects employee Ramashankar Sharma filed the complaint, alleging that the office-bearers assaulted and threatened workers Anurag Chaudhary, Sachin Sharma, Shujaat and others during painting work. The company claimed workers were pushed, grabbed by the neck, subjected to abusive language and threatened with fatal consequences.

Painting work began at 10:30 am on Tuesday. Around 3:30 pm, office-bearers allegedly reached the tower and drove labourers away, halting work.

The dispute stems from handover and maintenance disagreements since 2021. The AOA submitted a list of 50 required works. The company claimed 42 have been completed; facade repairs and fire-fighting work remain pending.

The AOA raised concerns about non-functioning CCTV cameras and deteriorated condition of towers, saying painting should follow a structural audit. Vice-president Pokhriyal gave a different account, stating 10-15 builder company employees surrounded his team with intent to assault them. The AOA alleged it complained to police but no action was taken.

Authority directed builder to conduct structural audit through one of eight institutions: IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, CBRI Roorkee, or others on panel. Regular repairs ordered. Penalty threatened if work not completed on time.
