Residents of Pragathi Nagar flagged flaws in construction of stormwater drains along the six-lane Miyapur–Gandi Maisamma road. Two 1,200-mm stormwater drains being laid on either side of the road are being connected to existing 200-mm pipelines in Pragathi Nagar. The disparity in capacity could lead to severe flooding during heavy rains. Residents urged authorities to redesign the drainage system and ensure better coordination among departments so stormwater drains discharge into lakes and main channels without bottlenecks. Concerns were raised at HYDRAA Prajavani on Monday. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath reviewed the petitions and directed officials to take necessary action. Residents stressed the need to keep stormwater drains separate from sewage lines and channel rainwater directly into lakes to prevent inundation in residential colonies. Other complaints included: Telephone Colony in Boduppal reported attempts to encroach upon a 1,166-square-yard park; Secretariat Colony in Neknampur sought layout boundary demarcation and protection of a 500-square-yard abandoned water tank site; Pothaipally village sought protection of 5.18-acre Majid Kunta lake from blockages and encroachments; Marripalli village complained of encroachments within 35.05-acre Full Tank Level area of a lake; Dwarakanagar reported industrial chemical effluents entering Boduppal Kunta; Nava Yamuna Nagar Colony in Shaikpet complained of road encroachments; Indira Nagar Colony in Alwal reported illegal walls blocking drainage and hampering ambulance movement. HYDRAA Prajavani received 47 complaints relating to flood risks, encroachments and pollution of water bodies.

Underground drainage works at Gandi Maisamma junction, under Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), began ahead of summer and were scheduled for three months but extended by two months. Road width reduced due to excavated spoil dumped roadside. Vehicles from Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Suraram connecting to Gandi Maisamma, plus engineering college buses, TGSRTC buses, and goods vehicles face delays during peak hours. Similar work continuing towards Bachupally, Nizampet, and Miyapur with excavated earth piled high. Commuters to Nizampet, Miyapur, and Gachibowli (IT Corridor) experiencing major traffic jams. Recent rains caused rainwater stagnation covering 50% of road, with traffic police absent from junction. Deputy Commissioner CMC stated underground drainage work completed; road junction work to finish by night. Gandi Maisamma is rapidly expanding educational hub with multiple engineering colleges and hundreds of housing projects.

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority opened the six-lane Bachupally Flyover at Bachupally X Roads under Cyberabad Municipal Corporation limits. The 1.30 km structure includes 19 piers and abutments, plus 1.30 km of two-lane slip roads. Cost: Rs 65.53 crore. Designed to reduce traffic congestion, minimise travel time, improve safety, and provide efficient connectivity in the IT corridor between Miyapur X Road and Gandi Maisamma.
