Agra zila panchayat decided to rename Fatehabad town to Sindoorpuram and Badshahi Bagh area to Brahmapuram. Proposal put forth by zila panchayat chairperson Manju Bhadoria, passed unanimously on Monday, now sent to state government for approval. Chairperson stated names "symbolised slavery". Town formerly called Samugarh, later changed to Fatehabad. Badshahi Bagh area to be renamed Brahmapuram after the Brahmos missile and Lord Brahma.
