Ghaziabad to Build First Bio-CNG Plant at Dundahera STP

Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is set to build the city’s first bio-CNG plant at Dundahera sewage treatment plant, producing 1,700kg daily.

The plant will produce 1,700kg of gas per day, enough to fuel more than 3,000 households and 350 vehicles. The STP captures methane and hydrogen sulphide, gases frequently released into the surrounding air and associated with foul odour across Crossings Republik.

Ansal Group Faces New FIR Over Alleged Ghaziabad Land Sale

Ghaziabad police registered another FIR against Ansal Group officials, alleging fake documents were used to sell 99.75 acres in Dundahera village.

Ghaziabad Development Authority Assistant Engineer Gyan Praksh Dwivedi filed an FIR against Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Limited (APIL) at Crossing Republic police station on Wednesday. Pranav Ansal, Vikas Yadav, general manager Amit Shukla and other officials were booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 318(4), 338, 336(3) and 61(2), and section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

Police allege the group violated township policy and sold 99.75 acres in Dundahera village using forged documents. Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra said police teams are investigating. The FIR followed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s order for strict action against Ansal builders across the district over alleged homebuyer fraud.

A separate FIR was registered in Lucknow on Tuesday. The NCLT admitted APIL to the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process on February 25, 2025, over an IL&FS Financial Services petition alleging default on ₹257 crore in loans and breach of a 2022 settlement.
