Shanthi Bhushan directed KIADB and authorities to pay Brightsword Technologies 8% interest on its ₹38 lakh deposit from December 2009. KIADB’s chief executive officer said no litigation-free land in a single parcel measuring eight acres was available at Defence & Aerospace Park, Devanahalli, or Aveerahalli, Dobaspet Industrial Area Phase 4.
Brightsword had applied through Karnataka Udyog Mitra to establish an IT park in Kadubeesanahalli, Varthur Hobli, Bengaluru East, with an investment of ₹43,000 crore. The State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee approved the application on October 20, 2003, and directed the special land acquisition officer to acquire and hand over 8.5 acres. Land inspections and other formalities were conducted.
