Corruption case in Bhopal Municipal Corporation regarding drain-covering project in Ward 53, Zone 13, Govindpura Assembly constituency, BHEL Sangam colony. Drain measures 240 metres long and 3 feet wide. Official records claim 16,139 kg of iron used for reinforced cement concrete cover. Total project cost approximately Rs 13.34 lakh. Work order (No. 2400032045) issued June 25, 2025; construction completed recently. In-charge Assistant Engineer Nishant Tiwari and Sub-Engineer Rupankan Verma documented iron usage. BMC Commissioner Sanskriti Jain ordered core cutting of RCC structure to verify actual iron quantity. Investigation teams tracing missing iron. Executive Engineer Brijesh Kaushal accused of failing to monitor project and not visiting site during construction. Notice issued December 5; site inspection conducted December 8. AE Tiwari stated core cutting report prepared and submitted to EE Kaushal.
