AMC has invited bids for an integrated sports complex in Bhadaj area of Thaltej ward, estimated cost ₹82.60 crore.

Indoor facilities: four-court multipurpose hall for basketball, volleyball and badminton; multi-sport arena for wrestling, kabaddi, taekwondo and table tennis; 10-metre indoor shooting range with 20 targets for air rifle and air pistol.

Outdoor facilities: tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; eight pickleball courts.

Other amenities: digital gaming room, yoga and aerobics centre, chess, carrom, snooker and billiards facilities.

Support infrastructure: player lounges with changing rooms and lockers, coach cabins, referee rooms, media rooms, first-aid centre, medical service station, training rooms with audio-visual facilities, offices, VIP lounge, waiting areas, cafeteria, juice bar, nutrition centre, basement parking, equipment storage, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities.

Designed to international standards of International Tennis Federation and Badminton World Federation. Targeting Platinum rating under GRIHA and Indian Green Building Council green building certification. Construction expected within 18 months excluding monsoon period after work order issued.

Five decades after the 1973 Sabarmati floods displaced families from Nava Vanzar village, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah distributed land ownership certificates to 173 rehabilitated residents on December 28, 2025. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was present at the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation event in Gandhinagar.

Shah inaugurated the Western Trunk Main Line project, a drainage initiative addressing sewage and wastewater problems in western and south-western Ahmedabad. The project involves reinforced cement concrete pipelines with diameters of 1,200 mm to 1,800 mm at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore. It will serve nearly 15 lakh residents and areas including Gota, Chandlodia, Science City, South Bopal, Bhadaj, Hebatpur, Thaltej, Bopal-Ghuma, Bodakdev, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Maktampura, Mahmadpura, Fatehwadi, Shantipura and Sanathal.

Total civic projects inaugurated were valued at ₹330 crore. Patel said the urban development budget was increased by 40% to ₹30,000 crore and 2025 is being observed as Urban Development Year. Initiatives include Miyawaki forests and oxygen parks in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
