Commuters report potholes and uneven patches on 13th Main Road in Anna Nagar, worsened by recent intermittent evening rains that leave slippery surfaces, especially hazardous for two-wheeler riders. The road connects 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue (Shanthi Colony) and carries diverted traffic from Thirumangalam junction after work began on Phase II of the Chennai Metro Rail project. Traffic from Ambattur and Mogappair heading to Koyambedu is routed via 15th Main Road and 13th Main Road, increasing vehicle flows during morning and evening peaks.

Residents say utility works dug up both roads weeks ago and temporary loose-material repairs eroded. Waterlogging slows traffic. Encroachments, unregulated parking and building materials piled along the road reduce space for vehicles and pedestrians. Greater Chennai Corporation has begun pavement works; residents seek stronger enforcement against roadside dumping and unregulated parking.
