Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has identified nine plots near metro stations for pay-and-park facilities, providing spaces for 5,903 two-wheelers and 246 four-wheelers. Inadequate station parking has discouraged commuters from driving to metro stations. Five plots are in western Ahmedabad and four in the east. The first-phase sites include one near Vastral Gam station, two near Nirant Crossroad, one near Apparel Park and two near Thaltej Gam. AMC is identifying sites for a second phase, which will add 17 plots.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) operates Ahmedabad Metro, which covers 67.6 km and 54 stations across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Phase 1 opened in 2019; Phase 2 extensions reached Gandhinagar and GIFT City in 2024. The network carries about 1.53 lakh passengers daily (2026). Its Blue Line runs from Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam, and its Red Line from APMC to Motera; the system has four operational lines. Corridors are largely elevated, with an underground stretch through central Ahmedabad. The network serves GIFT City, Gujarat National Law University and Mahatma Mandir. GMRC-set fares are ₹5–₹25, with a small smart-card discount. Services run 06:20–22:05, at intervals of about 8–12 minutes. Further Phase 2 connectivity and feeder links are planned. Listed updates include a ₹879.27 civil tender for Phase 2A (22 August 2026), a metro–RRTS hybrid corridor tender (19 August 2026), and Phase 3 receiving PIB clearance, advancing a Dholera Airport link (8 August 2026). Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s water and sewerage committee approved a 100 MLD water treatment plant at the Raska Water Treatment Plant premises, at an estimated cost of ₹48.5 crore. The proposal was approved on Friday, February 27, 2026. New development along the Sardar Patel Ring Road corridor from Vastral to Kamod in eastern Ahmedabad is expected to increase drinking-water demand. Raska’s existing 200 MLD plant has operated since 2010 and supplies treated water to distribution stations in Ahmedabad’s eastern and southern zones. Water and sewerage committee chairman Dilip Bagaria said the existing plant is operational.

A grading system developed by City Studio students at Cept University assessed 10 major clusters of Ahmedabad—five each in west and east zones—using parameters: infrastructure (48% weightage), mobility, housing and shelter, safety and comfort, and affordability (4% weightage).

Infrastructure sub-parameters: water supply, green infrastructure, sewage, solid waste management, municipal services, waterlogging, blue infrastructure.

Affordability sub-parameters: property value, per capita floor space, vehicles owned, transport cost, earning members per family.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) plans a 100 MLD water treatment plant at Raska to meet growing demand in the city’s eastern region. It will acquire 27,516 sq. m of government land in Chavalj village, Daskroi taluka, allocating ₹1.88 crore for acquisition.

The plant is intended to serve developing areas from Vastral and Ode to Kamod, and those parallel to the SP Ring Road. Raska currently has a 200 MLD plant supplying Vastral, Ramol, Hathijan, Lambha, Isanpur and Vatv. AMC had initially planned a 200 MLD plant for the eastern and southern zones, but is considering an additional 100 MLD capacity, supported by the 300 MLD head regulator on the Shedhi branch canal at Raska.
