The hub began in 2016, when residents Jai and Gyanendra Shukla started creating videos; their channel, “Being Chhattisgarhiya,” launched in 2018. Tulsi now has around 40 active channels. “Back Benchers Creation” has more than 24,800 subscribers and “Nimga Chhattisgadhiya” more than 9,200. Most channels earn ₹20,000–₹40,000 monthly from YouTube advertising, with some also taking small advertising and product-endorsement contracts.

The Raipur district administration is creating studios and digital facilities for creators. Its initiative includes Hummer Flix, described as Chhattisgarh’s first high-tech studio, equipped with gimbals, drone cameras and computer systems. The administration plans to expand the studio and establish an institute for professional creator training.
