Prasad inspected the Darna River bridge between Nandgaon Sado and Bhavli, a popular tourist spot. He ordered security personnel deployed and said the bridge should be closed to traffic if water flows over it. Sub-Divisional Officer, Igatpuri-Trimbakeshwar, Assistant District Collector Dr G.V.S. Pawan Datta and Tehsildar Abhijit Baravkar attended. No major damage was reported; Prasad said the situation was under control.

Nashik District Prepares for Up to 300 mm of Rainfall

moneycontrol.com · · Infrastructure

Nashik district is on high alert for possible cloudburst-like rainfall, with closures and safety measures across several talukas, including Igatpuri.

Key facts

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis warned of possible cloudburst-like rainfall in parts of Nashik district on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Some areas in the Trimbakeshwar-Igatpuri-Nashik belt could receive up to 300 mm in a short period, raising risks of flash floods, landslides and waterlogging.

Schools and colleges in Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, Igatpuri, Peth, Dindori and Surgana talukas, and weekly markets there, were closed. Trimbakeshwar Temple and Saptashrungi Temple at Vani were shut until Wednesday morning. Authorities may close flood- and landslide-prone roads and barricaded waterfalls, forts and tourist spots.

Residents in low-lying areas were advised to seek safer places if needed and avoid unnecessary travel and flooded roads. Farmers were told to stay out of fields. An SDRF team was called from Dhule; departmental control rooms were activated, reservoir levels will be monitored, and health staff leave was cancelled. Railway officials were alerted because the Mumbai-Delhi route passes through Igatpuri.
