Residents of Trilokpuri, East Delhi, have endured burst sewer lines and overflowing drains for two months. Streets in Blocks 30, 31, and 32 of Himmatpuri are inundated with filthy water, affecting several homes. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers visited a week ago but left most drains unrepaired, removing silt and leaving it piled on roadsides. Last week's rainfall caused widespread waterlogging and knee-deep sewage on roads. Local MLA Ravi Kant had assured resolution by April 1 with no action since. Delhi's drain desilting issues came under scrutiny last year when only 290 of 713 MCD drains had been desilted before monsoon. The Irrigation and Flood Control Department has assured the National Green Tribunal that 23 of Delhi's 24 major drains will be desilted by May 31, 2025, with the Najafgarh drain (the largest) requiring completion by June 2027. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma stated on April 12 that all drains will be cleaned before monsoon, with authorities assuring completion within one month. PWD is coordinating with CPWD, PWD, and NBCC.

It will have eight stations, including 8.99 km underground and 4.207 km elevated, and operate as an independent line. The route will pass through Geeta Colony, Gandhi Nagar market, Kailash Nagar, Patparganj, New Kondli and Mayur Vihar Phase III. Proposed interchanges are Shastri Park on the Red Line, Nirman Vihar on the Blue Line and Trilokpuri on the Pink Line.

The corridor is one of seven approved under Phase V (B), which will add 97.158 km and 65 stations at a projected cost of ₹48,204.56 crore. The proposal will be sent to the Central government for approval. Four of the seven corridors are targeted for completion by 2029; it is unconfirmed whether this corridor is among them. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar has said the complete Phase V network will be approximately 200 km across Delhi-NCR.
