The 3.9-km stretch of road between Aramvila primary health centre and Thrikkannapuram bridge is a key arterial link between Thirumala and Nemom. The Rs 29.6-crore project has received its first layer of tarring and essential drainage facilities have been constructed. Utility shifting between Kunnapuzha and Plavila has been completed, with similar work commencing between Plavila and Thirumala. Earlier delays were caused by relocation of utility lines belonging to KSEB and KWA. Administrative sanction was granted in December 2024. The road is expected to open to traffic by mid-February.

The Thirumala-Thrikkannapuram road in Nemom constituency, Thiruvananthapuram, has been under consideration for widening from approximately 8m to 15m for 20 years but remains incomplete. The 3.6km stretch connects several wards to the Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil highway. A shopowner stated rent, not business revenue, remains constant due to e-commerce competition and road conditions deterring customers. The General Education Minister's office stated land acquisition was completed 18 months ago and expects completion by December. Road-widening activity has recently picked up, with retaining wall construction progressing from Thrikkannapuram for over 1km. Authorities plan to raise the road but shopowners fear waterlogging. Lack of coordination between KSEB and PWD has exacerbated delays, with both departments trading blame. The ward councillor noted slow progress on the drainage system and requested timely rectification of damage to byroads from the widening project.
