The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) terminated 13 licences held by WTC Noida Development Pvt Ltd and Spire Techpark Ltd, effective February 19, 2025, citing material agreement violations, failure to follow its bylaws and inability to advance the association’s objectives. The licences covered WTC Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Faridabad, GIFT City, Lucknow, Noida, Noida CBD, Patna, Surat, Vadodara and Varanasi.
The WTCA said problems in business development had damaged its reputation and prompted an internal examination. It said it does not develop, finance, own or share profits in licensees’ real-estate projects.
The termination came amid an Enforcement Directorate probe into WTC Group, its promoters Ashish, Suparna and Abhijeet Bhalla, and Bhutani Infra and others over alleged cheating, criminal breach of trust and defrauding hundreds of homebuyers. The ED said searches under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act were conducted on February 27 in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram, identifying assets worth thousands of crores of rupees. Dozens of FIRs followed complaints from hundreds of homebuyers and investors.

The licences covered WTC Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Faridabad, GIFT City, Lucknow, Noida, Noida CBD, Patna, Surat, Vadodara and Varanasi.
WTCA said its internal examination found breaches of material licence terms and that the difficulties had harmed the association’s reputation and brands. Bhutani Infra said no land, funds or shares in land-holding companies were transferred to it during its brief WTC association. It said it ended ties with WTC Group in February, six months after signing a July 2024 MoU.
On January 27, 2025, the Enforcement Directorate searched 12 locations in Delhi, Faridabad and the NCR in connection with WTC Group, promoter Ashish Bhalla, Bhutani Group and promoter Ashish Bhutani. It seized documents, digital devices, jewellery and bullion worth ₹1.5 crore and froze WTC Group companies’ fixed deposits.
