New power substation inaugurated in Noida Phase 2

A 33/11 kV electricity substation inaugurated in Nangla Charandas will serve Sector 80, 81, and Phase-2 Industrial Area, addressing voltage and power cut issues.

Key facts

A new 33/11 kV electricity substation in Nangla Charandas village, Phase 2 area, was inaugurated on 26 June 2025 by Gautam Budh Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh.

Project details:

  • Cost: ₹15.99 crore
  • Service areas: Sector 80, Sector 81, Phase-2 Industrial Area, Nangla Charandas, Salarpur, and nearby localities
  • Will replace power supply from overloaded 132 kV substation in Sector 115
  • Expected to improve voltage stability and reduce power cuts

Management:

  • Noida Authority: planning, funding, civil construction, and commissioning
  • Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) Noida: takeover and ongoing distribution, technical operations, load regulation, maintenance, and consumer services

Additional project: Another 33/11 kV substation near Sector 164 close to Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is under development at an estimated cost of ₹9 crore, 25% complete, expected commissioning by March 2026. Will serve Sector 164, 165, 166, Gulawali, and Mohiyapur villages.
