Khulwant Singh, a 74-year-old retired banker, fell from the 14th floor of RPS Savana on Tuesday around 8:30am while watering plants. He stepped onto a rusted iron bridge connecting Towers 8 and 9, which gave way. The bridge, originally meant for emergency use, had been converted into a small garden by residents. Police said the iron bridge had rusted due to frequent plant watering and rain, weakening the structure. Singh's family filed a complaint against the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) for failing to maintain the bridge. Police are investigating potential negligence by the society's management. Other residents reported longstanding complaints about construction and maintenance problems. The RWA had instructed residents not to keep pots on the bridge.
