Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana clarified that his own 60-cent plot purchased near Edupugallu in 2001, before state bifurcation, fell within the alignment of the Amaravati Inner Ring Road. He noted political opponents filed cases alleging violations without evidence. The issue came to light when he applied to CRDA for building permission. The matter is pending before the High Court. On the same day, Narayana inspected ongoing housing projects at Nelapadu, including Type-1 and Type-2 quarters for gazetted officers and quarters for Group-D employees. Construction of 4,026 houses for employees and officials in Amaravati is underway. He criticised the previous government for halting works. Underground infrastructure is targeted to be ready by next monsoon with capital construction finished within three years.
Centre Approves Ring Road for Amaravati Capital City

The central government has sanctioned an outer ring road for Amaravati capital, one of 34 access-controlled ring roads planned across India.
Key facts
The Centre decided to undertake development of 34 new access-controlled ring roads across the country. Roads Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed the plan at a review meeting with state PWD and urban development secretaries. The ministry is targeting to decongest national highways in urban areas and has identified agglomerations and cities with more than five lakh population for construction of greenfield ring roads. These include Kolkata and Amaravati agglomerations, Nashik, Thiruvananthapuram, Ajmer, Warangal, Mangaluru, Udaipur and Tirunelveli. The stretches will have a Development Control Zone (DCZ) of 15 metres on either side, where only public utilities and green cover would be permitted. The central government approved the Amaravati Outer Ring-Road (ORR) project following clearance from the ministry of roads and highways' project approval committee. The ring road for Amaravati would help decongest NH to reach Amaravati and Vijayawada from the Hyderabad national highway.
