Reviews
Puttaparthi is a peaceful retreat for those looking for mental peace and spiritual awakening. Prashanti Nilayam the main ashram founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the heart and soul of Puttaparthi and is the best place to stay at while in Puttaparthi. The mandir and Bhajan hall are open to public on all days at fixed times during the morning and evening. There is good food available at the canteens with a choice of South Indian, North Indian and Western food canteens. There is also a general store super market, a large book store and a very good bakery within the campus.
Outside the Ashram compound are many other places of interest. Places to visit are the Chaitanya Jyothi museum, the Sri Sathya Sai International centre for Sports, the Hillview stadium, the Shivalayam (birthplace of Baba), Venugopalaswamy temple, the Sanathana Samskruti museum, the meditation tree, the university administrative block, the music college. The planetarium is also a must visit, but the shows are only one or two days of the week. The Sri sathya sai super specialty hospital can also be visited.Pros
