The Rajasthan Metro Railway Corporation (RMRC) has initiated pre-construction activities at the proposed Prahladpura metro station site for Jaipur Metro Phase II. The turnkey contractor is executing pre-construction tasks including soil testing and ground levelling to prepare the corridor site. Full-scale construction will start once the official foundation stone laying ceremony takes place. Early field activity has begun as the project awaits final clearances.

Jaipur Metro Phase-2 spans 41 km from Prahladpura to Todi Mor with 36 stations covering Sitapura Industrial Area, VKIA, Tonk Road, SMS Hospital, Stadium, Ambabadi, and Vidyadhar Nagar. Project cost: Rs 13,037.66 crore, funded equally by central and state governments, executed by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited. Underground stations planned near Jaipur International Airport for direct metro link. Phase-2 will integrate with existing Phase-1 Metro system via interchange with dedicated feeder system for last-mile connectivity.

Implemented by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (50:50 joint venture of Government of India and Rajasthan). Funding: equity from both governments, subordinate debt, multilateral financing. Completion targeted: September 2031. Phase-1 (operational): East-West corridor Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar, 11.64 km, 11 stations, average daily ridership 60,000 passengers. Phase-2 expected to significantly increase ridership, reduce traffic congestion and vehicular emissions, enhance public transport share.
