Jabalpur Municipal Corporation ordered Balaji Construction to stop work in Polipathar and threatened demolition unless approval documents are submitted within three days.

After a December 27 site inspection near the under-construction area in Polipathar, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) found construction inconsistent with the approved map. Shops were being built on space approved for stilt parking, and a retaining wall appeared to have been built by filling drain land, violating drainage and government rules. On Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar’s instructions, building-section officials ordered construction to stop immediately. Balaji Construction must submit the Revenue Department’s demarcation form, actual site measurements and original building approval documents within three days. Otherwise, JMC will treat the construction as illegal under the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956, and may demolish it or take other punitive action. The corporation sought clarification, citing potential future waterlogging from drain encroachment in Polipathar.
