Farmers Call Off Strike, Paving Way for Resumed Construction

Farmers' Plea Authority Hears Farmers’ Plea Authority Hears

After a month-long standoff, Noida farmers have decided to call off their strike, bringing relief to Noida real estate builders. The strike had halted the construction of numerous residential projects in both Noida and Noida Extension.

Breakthrough in Negotiations

The Noida Authority played a crucial role in resolving the impasse by assuring the farmers that their demands would be addressed. Key proposals from the farmers will be tabled at the next board meeting, setting a positive tone for the negotiations.

Key Demands from Noida Farmers:

  • Compensation Hike: A 64% increase in compensation.
  • Abadi Land Regularization: Regularization of ABADI land.
  • Village Development: Development of village areas.
  • Allocation of Developed Plots: Receipt of a tenth of developed plots.

Roadmap to Resolution

A senior Noida Authority official emphasized that the authority has commenced studying the farmers' grievances, aiming to resolve the issues within a timeframe of 5 months, by next April. This development is expected to cost the authority approximately र 2,000-crore.

Response from the Farmers Mr. Ashok Bhati, a farmer from Sadarpur village, welcomed the authority's decision, stating that they were willing to cooperate in settling the issues, provided their proposals were achieved.

Parallel Investigation in Sarfabad

Meanwhile, in the Sarfabad area, a separate land dispute has come to light, involving allegations of a farmer's land being wrongly allocated to another Noida real estate builder. The authority is set to initiate an investigation at the SDM level to determine the rightful owner of the land.
