Wake Up Call against Illegal Construction

Delhi Government Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Constructions

The Delhi Government has directed relevant departments to implement stringent measures against illegal constructions across the capital, particularly those encroaching upon agricultural land. This initiative aims to curb the rampant unauthorized development that has plagued the city.

Zero Tolerance Policy on Illegal Construction

Revenue Minister, Mr. Raj Kumar Chouhan, has declared a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal construction. "Any illegal construction will not be tolerated," he stated firmly. He emphasized that not only will those responsible for these illegal activities face consequences, but government officials found negligent in their duties to prevent such constructions will also be held accountable.

Unauthorized Colonies Under Scrutiny

Mr. Chouhan's directives extend to the 1,639 unauthorized colonies currently under consideration for regularization by the government. He warned that individuals undertaking construction activities within these colonies will also be deemed guilty and face penalties. This measure aims to ensure compliance with regulations even within areas slated for potential regularization.

Action Against Developers and Land Mafia

The government has also pledged to take decisive action against developers and land mafia found complicit in illegal construction activities. Mr. Chouhan's statement,"government would not stand aside but will take action against developers and land mafia if they are found guilty," underscores their commitment to addressing this issue comprehensively. He asserted that the government will actively pursue and prosecute those involved in such illicit practices.
