After eight months of a thorough survey on government land, the Hyderabad district administration has identified 66 acres of litigation-free government land, valued at hundreds of crores. This initiative was undertaken based on the directions of the Andhra Pradesh Land Management Authority (APLMA), established to review the status of government land across the state.
The survey was conducted in 16 areas across the Hyderabad district. District officials used Tablet phones to capture images of the litigation-free lands and collect comprehensive details about each parcel of land.
According to the feedback from surveying officials, the largest parcel of litigation-free land, comprising 66 acres, is situated in Shaikpet. This represents the most extensive parcel of such land in the district.
Furthermore, the district officials have completed the construction of compound walls around 30 of the 119 land parcels and are awaiting approvals to complete the remaining structures. It is anticipated that all construction will be completed by March next year.
The district administration has requested the departments of child welfare, social welfare, BC, SC, ST welfare, education, women, and minority welfare to submit plans for developing schools, hostels, and other structures on the 66-acre government land. Additionally, there are plans to develop group housing on this government land.
Notably, around 2.60 lakh applications requesting government lands are pending with the authorities for the past five years.
