Navi Mumbai Airport Faces Opposition, Alternative Plans in the Works
Following the Prime Minister's approval for the new Navi Mumbai airport, the project is now facing resistance from five villages. In response, the Maharashtra state government, led by Chief Minister Pritiviraj Chavan, is devising a substitute plan.
Substitute Plan: Cashless Land for Land Formula
- Pushpak Nagar Township: A new township where affected people will receive 27% of the developed land.
- Land Valuation: Approximately ₹19 crore per hectare.

- Juhu Airport Expansion: Plans to extend the airport 22 kilometers further into the sea to alleviate the city's congestion.
