Mohali Ambala Greenfield Expressway Opens, Revolutionizing Regional Infrastructure

Game-Changing Infrastructure Arrives in Mohali

Mohali Ambala Greenfield Expressway Opens, Revolutionising Regional Infrastructure The much-awaited Mohali Ambala Greenfield Expressway has finally opened, marking a pivotal moment for the region's infrastructure landscape. This Rs 1,525 crore project, constructed under the Centre's Bharatmala Pariyojana, represents one of the most significant highway developments in northern India.

Expressway Specifications and Route

The six-lane, access-controlled expressway stretches 31.23 kilometers, linking IT City Chowk near Chandigarh International Airport to the Kurali-Chandigarh road. This Greenfield alignment strategically bypasses congested urban areas, particularly Mohali, Kharar, and Kurali towns.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) completed 93% of construction work, with the remaining portions will be finalised by August. The project required Rs 763 crore for land acquisition and Rs 762 crore for actual construction.

Real Estate Market Transformation

Property developers and investors are already seeing the expressway's impact on real estate values. The new corridor provides enhanced accessibility to IT City, New Chandigarh, Kharar, and Kurali areas. This improved connectivity makes previously remote locations more attractive for residential and commercial development.

The expressway serves as a crucial alternative route for Delhi-bound traffic heading towards Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, effectively reducing the notorious congestion on Airport Road.

Strategic Benefits for Commuters

Daily commuters will experience dramatically reduced travel times between Chandigarh and Delhi, with signal-free movement across the entire stretch. The high embankment design allows the expressway to crisscross through Greenfield lands while maintaining smooth traffic flow.

This infrastructure upgrade positions Mohali as a more accessible destination for businesses and residents, potentially triggering sustained real estate growth throughout the region.
