Haryana Chief Minister’s announces development projects for Gurgaon

Gurgaon Set for Major Infrastructure Boost

Former Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, laid the foundation for a significant 6-lane road project connecting Mahaveer Chowk to Dharuhera. He also unveiled several other development schemes, including a smart power grid for Gurgaon city.

The road project has been allocated a budget of Rs 36.61 crore. During the program, Mr. Khattar emphasized his vision for a transforming Gurgaon with the slogan, "Badalti Soch, Badalta Gurgaon." He expressed confidence that the new road will significantly benefit travelers and provide much-needed relief from traffic congestion.

Addressing Power and Water Needs

Mr. Khattar announced ambitious plans to eliminate electricity shortages in Gurgaon within the next two years. This will be achieved by implementing a smart power grid project, capable of providing uninterrupted power supply to the entire city. The project will be executed in four phases, with the first phase of the tender process already complete. He stated, “In upcoming 2 years there will be no crisis of electricity in Gurgaon because of smart power grid project, this project will be able to supply 24 hours electricity in the city. The task will be of total 4 phases. The 1st phase of tender processes has been completed.’’

Recognizing the importance of reliable water supply, the government has sanctioned Rs 20 crore for improving water infrastructure in Gurgaon. The work will involve repairing existing pipelines and installing new ones to enhance water distribution throughout the city.

Focus on Education and Traffic decongestion

In a move to bolster educational facilities, Mr. Khattar allocated four buildings in the DLF area to the District Education Department. These buildings will be used to establish new educational institutions and schools. Additionally, he announced the upcoming establishment of a women's university in Gurgaon, further strengthening the city's educational landscape. He confirmed, "Woman university will be soon opened in Gurgaon”.

To address traffic congestion, a footbridge will be constructed at Tau Devi Lal Park. Furthermore, Rs 20 crore has been earmarked for the development of a new road in Sector 15. To further alleviate traffic bottlenecks, four underpasses will be constructed at key intersections, including Rajiv Chowk, Iffco Chowk, and Signature Tower. This comprehensive approach aims to improve traffic flow on the Gurgaon Expressway and its service roads. He elaborated that "4 underpasses will also be built at Rajiv Chowk, Iffco Chowk, Signature Tower will decrease traffic problems at Gurgaon Expressway and in service roads’’.
