Harry Rogers' Perspective on His New Role
Upon his appointment, Rogers conveyed his enthusiasm, citing India's stable economy as a catalyst for growth. As he put it, "Being one of the world’s most stable economies with consistently high growth rates, the Indian real estate market offers an exciting opportunity for domestic and global funds." He further suggested that a positive mid-to-long-term economic outlook, coupled with recent growth in sectors like office, warehousing, logistics, and other core and non-core areas, provides ample reasons for investors to support investments in India. He stated his excitement about joining Knight Frank which he considers "a truly global business with an unmatched track record spanning more than a century."
The company indicates that Rogers' duties will encompass transaction structuring for both offshore investors and Indian investment managers. Knight Frank eagerly anticipates leveraging Rogers' proficiency in global markets, particularly in London. The firm noted that, "Among his responsibilities were leading transactions involving residential and commercial assets, personally helping his company to transact on deals worth over $300 million in the last three years."
Comments from Knight Frank Leadership
Chairman of Knight Frank, Shishir Baijal, underlined the significance of Rogers' appointment amid a period of expansion for the Indian real estate sector. Baijal stated that, "India’s economy is expanding at one of the fastest rates in the world, and by 2030, it will continue to rank third in terms of GDP." With significant domestic demand, sustained economic stability, and extensive infrastructure development, it is gaining increasing recognition as an appealing investment destination for both foreign and domestic investors. He noted that Post the COVID-19 pandemic, investors are more inclined to diversify their portfolios to mitigate risk. "I am excited to work with Harry to demonstrate to international investors the possibilities of investing in India", he added.
