To promote the Bollywood film 'Aurangzeb', Arjun Kapoor, the film's leading actor, is set to reside in Gurgaon for a duration of one week.
This initiative highlights the innovative strategies emerging from the Bollywood industry for film promotion. Kapoor's decision to stay in Gurgaon showcases a fresh angle in promotional methods, shedding light on such unconventional marketing techniques.
'Aurangzeb' intricately narrates the story of Gurgaon, particularly focusing on the dynamic real estate market prevalent in this region. Notably, the film is also touted to be among the first to capture the essence of India’s Millennium City.
The film's producers, emphasizing the importance of the Gurgaon real estate scene, have opted to shift their entire base from Mumbai to Gurgaon for a week. During his stay, Kapoor aims to immerse himself in the local lifestyle. He plans to interact with residents, visit clubs, and partake in community activities, establishing a connection with the people.
A representative from the film's production team remarked on Kapoor’s stay: "This is indeed a unique approach to promoting 'Aurangzeb', which eloquently narrates the narrative of Gurgaon's real estate landscape."
Notably, this innovative promotional tactic marks a departure from the conventional trend of shooting Bollywood films in major metropolitan areas. Instead, the film focuses on a suburban city, demonstrating Gurgaon's evolution into a leading hub in India. Through 'Aurangzeb', the filmmakers explore the interplay of power and crime within a fast-growing urban landscape.
However, this isn’t the first instance of a film hero residing in a city for promotional reasons. Previously, Imran Khan had resided in Delhi to promote his film 'Delhi Belly'. Similarly, Sonam Kapoor spent four months in Delhi, not specifically for promotions, but due to various film shoots, staying at her aunt's apartment.
