Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy is supporting Naya Raipur’s push to become an IT hub. Square Business Service Private Limited opened a BPO at the CBD building, inaugurated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and employs around 350 people, including candidates from 13 Chhattisgarh districts. Of its staff, 92% are from Chhattisgarh and 8% from Telangana, Odisha, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.

The Naya Raipur Development Authority has allocated 1,800 plug-and-play seats to four companies, including Teleperformance, and is developing a separate IT Tower. It is targeting 5,000–6,000 jobs at the earliest; Square’s centre head cited prospects for 2,000-plus jobs.

Square aims to increase employment to 600–650 within 4–6 months and 1,000–1,200 in 18 months. It said 700–800 opportunities may be created and it currently needs around 150 candidates. The BPO’s employees include people from Naxal-affected Dantewada, Gariaband and Dhamtari.

The Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority allocated 141.84 acres in Sector 22 to the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) to establish a pharmaceutical park for research, development and investment.

The park will support pharmaceutical units, including Ayush-product manufacturers, with a flatted factory complex, common effluent treatment plant, research and development centres, and testing laboratories. The state expects the project to attract domestic and international investment, create local employment and support economic growth.

The initiative is backed by Chhattisgarh’s 2024–30 industrial policy, which offers facilities and concessions to pharmaceutical industries. Large-scale pharmaceutical enterprises are offered 100% industrial investment promotion on capital investments; units can receive reimbursement of up to 100% of net SGST paid.

The state’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Health Scheme provides free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh to 77.20 lakh families, with the limit intended to rise to Rs 10 lakh.
