Domestic piped natural gas (PNG) supply officially began in Nagpur district on Friday, April 10, 2026, reaching eight homes in Kavya Enclave, CIDCO Colony, Butibori. The supply is part of GAIL’s Mumbai–Nagpur–Jharsuguda gas pipeline project; work from Mumbai to Nagpur is complete. Haryana City Gas (HCG) is the district distributor. Officials said supply to MIHAN, Jamtha and housing projects in surrounding areas will begin soon. The target is to connect every household in Nagpur district within 4 to 5 years. Officials said PNG is safer than LPG cylinders and more economical.
