Damaged Roads Disrupt Residents Across Vizianagaram Suburbs

Residents in several Vizianagaram colonies are seeking urgent road repairs after damage and waterlogging caused hardship and safety concerns.
Key facts
Residents of Vasant Vihar Regency, Padmavati Colony, Dharmapuri and surrounding areas face inconvenience from severely damaged roads. The stretch from Vasant Vihar Regency to Dharmapuri Degree College is particularly poor, as is the road between Ice Factory Junction and Dharmapuri. Roads from Cantonment to K.L. Puram were damaged by waterlogging after recent rains.
Vasant Vihar Regency president B. Tulasi Prasad and general secretary Dasari Ramesh urged the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation to repair the colony’s internal roads immediately. Prasad said residents pay property tax but lack basic civic amenities. Former MLC Pakalapati Raghuvarma recently sustained injuries after falling from a motorcycle on a colony road.
